The Bezirksverordnetenversammlung in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf was cancelled after high rates of illness among members, drawing criticism from the Left party faction.

These cancellations and posted deadlines arrive as the borough continues work on multiple standing items, including a new urban development plan and parking management changes. Residents track specific dates and plan numbers because they determine when input can still shape outcomes and when rules take effect on the ground.

Plan 4-60 details and public input window

The draft urban development plan numbered 4-60 is now posted online for new residential and office buildings in Charlottenburg. The plan calls for housing, offices and shops plus a continuous pedestrian and bicycle path along the Spree river. Public comments on the draft are accepted until August 8.

District mayor Kirstin Bauch, confirmed after the February 2023 repeat election in which the CDU and Greens formed the governing alliance, oversees these filings. The numbered plan and fixed August 8 cutoff give residents a concrete reference point for review.

Additional timelines now in motion

New park zone management zones are set to begin in December. Earlier this year the council also addressed WLAN installation requirements for cultural and educational institutions and protections for historic street lighting, both decided in February 2026 sessions.

These dated steps follow the borough’s first live-streamed meeting on July 11, 2024, which covered oral inquiries and an urban development committee motion. Comments on plan 4-60 can be submitted through the posted online portal before the August 8 close. The December start for the new parking zones will follow without further council action required at this stage.
