Charlottenburg Unveils Multiple Housing Developments for Public Review

Over 337 new apartments and a daycare center are being built in the Hey Charlottenburg quarter on the Mierendorffinsel, with completion scheduled for mid-2027. This project forms part of the district's current phase of intensive urban development.

Hey Charlottenburg and Am Spreebord Quarters

Bauwens is developing the Am Spreebord quarter on the Mierendorffinsel alongside the Hey Charlottenburg scheme. Both initiatives add residential capacity on the island, which is bordered by the Spree and the Charlottenburg connecting canal. The Hey Charlottenburg quarter alone will deliver more than 337 apartments plus the daycare facility by the middle of 2027.

Neues Ufer Development

Approximately 500 low-carbon residential units, commercial spaces and a daycare center are planned for the Neues Ufer development along the Charlottenburg connecting canal. Thirty percent of the units are designated as rent-controlled. The project contributes additional housing and local services in the same area of the Mierendorffinsel.

Former Schlosspark-Klinik Site

A new residential quarter is planned to replace the former Schlosspark-Klinik on Heubnerweg. The scheme will include 640 apartments in a mix of ownership, private rental and social housing. Construction is set to begin in 2028 and reach completion by 2033.

Public Review of Draft Plan 4-60

A draft urban development plan numbered 4-60 for new residential and office buildings bordered by the Spree and Englische Straße is currently open for public review and feedback until August 8. Residents and stakeholders can examine the proposals during this window.
