Neukölln pushes forward major housing projects with key decisions coming

Planning Consultations for Future Sites
Two Bebauungsplan procedures entered public consultation from 16 February to 18 March 2026. Bebauungsplan 8-102 covers the former NME-Bahnhof Rudow site, while Bebauungsplan 8-98 addresses the Tempelhofer Weg/Britzer Damm area. Both processes aim to secure sites for future schools and support wider urban development.
Evidence of Increased Activity
Neukölln recorded a fourfold rise in housing development approvals in 2025 compared with 2024, moving from 222 to 1,118 projects. Separately, a state-owned housing company and two cooperatives are delivering approximately 900 new apartments in southern Neukölln; that scheme received the 2021 Climate Protection Award for its ecological planning.
