The borough administration states that routine mowing and playground inspections will shift to two firms based on Suarezstrasse and Wilmersdorfer Strasse. Processing times for permit applications tied to these works are projected to shorten by three weeks once local suppliers handle the work.
Households in the 10623 and 10627 postcodes pay an average of 38 euros per year toward borough maintenance levies. The administration projects that retaining more of this money inside the district will support an additional 12 seasonal positions next year.
Budget figures and next steps
The 2026 Charlottenburg budget paper lists 4.2 million euros for services now covered by the ordinance. Policy analysts at the borough finance office calculate that the 40 percent local share will direct roughly 1.68 million euros to district businesses, compared with 1.05 million euros under the previous open-tender system.
Implementation begins with a pilot round of six contracts valued at 620000 euros. The borough assembly will review results in December 2026 before deciding whether to adjust the percentage for 2027.
