Effects on daily services for residents
Households in the northern part of the district would see an average annual tax increase of 48 euros on a 400,000-euro property, according to the draft ordinance published by the district finance office. In return, the government projects that three additional community centers would extend operating hours to seven days a week by 2028.
Policy analysts note that current waiting lists for subsidized childcare places in Neukolln stand at roughly 1,800 families. The levy is expected to add 340 new places if passed, with priority given to single-parent households in the Reuterkiez and Rollberg neighborhoods.
