Schöneberg Sleep Clinics Now Offer Overnight Monitoring for Local Residents
Schöneberg residents can book overnight monitoring at neighborhood facilities focused on sleep patterns and daily routines.
How we reported this
The Schöneberg Sleep Center on Akazienstraße added four new overnight slots for polysomnography this week, with the first sessions scheduled for July 14.
Interest in these services has grown since spring, when more people began tracking their rest after noticing daytime fatigue during commutes along Potsdamer Straße. Local wellness groups have pointed to irregular schedules tied to shift work in the area as one factor driving the change.
Clinics and programs in the neighborhood
Two main spots handle most requests. The Schöneberg Sleep Center runs studies in a converted apartment block at Akazienstraße 12, where technicians record breathing, heart rate and movement through the night. A second option sits inside the Winterfeldtplatz Wellness Hub near the market square, which offers shorter daytime assessments alongside full lab nights for those who prefer daytime follow-ups. Both locations accept referrals from general practitioners on Bülowstraße and maintain waiting lists that currently stretch two weeks.
Staff at the Akazienstraße site also run a weekly group session on sleep hygiene every Thursday evening, covering light exposure and caffeine timing for participants who live within walking distance of the Nollendorfplatz U-Bahn stop.
Current numbers and next steps
Records from the Winterfeldtplatz Hub show 187 sleep studies completed between January and June 2026, up from 142 in the same stretch of 2025. A basic overnight test starts at 340 euros, with some insurance plans covering part of the cost if a doctor submits the paperwork by the 20th of the prior month. Residents who want to start can call either clinic directly or visit the front desk at Akazienstraße 12 with recent medical notes. Early booking helps secure a date before the August holiday period reduces available staff.
